#Building Bramble

October 11, 2019

This is the first post of our series #BuildingBramble! In this series, you’ll get to know our team and share in all our celebrations and challenges. We’ll keep you updated on what’s going on in the office, give you sneak previews of what we’re building, and hopefully get to know you along the way, too!

Here at Bramble, we work in “Sprints”. Sprints are periods that last about 1 or 2 weeks, during which we research, design, build, and test new features in our game. It helps us stay focused on our goals and be clear about all the steps we must take to get there.

Earlier on in this Sprint, we launched our very first version of Bramble on the App Store and Google Play!

If you’ve received a message from one of our Co-Founders Shao Yuan, Reuben, or Shao Min since our launch, that’s because we’ve been collecting your feedback for the first version of our app!

Although we do our homework and try our best with every feature we design, what really matters to us is whether we’re helping parents and kids. Do kids relate to our Prompts? Do parents like our Breathing section? Can we make our instructions clearer? And we’re not just asking questions about our game – we’re also trying to learn more about the obstacles that parents face in trying to communicate with their kids, even (and especially!) if we haven’t addressed them yet.

Meanwhile, our Co-founder and Psychology Lead, Shao Wei, and Education Lead, Bernadette, have been exploring the rich world of child development and parent-child relationships. As Wei and Bern read research papers, books, and articles to understand the methodologies that ground Bramble's features, they’ll summarise the things they find useful as blog posts, so stay tuned!

Last but not least, our Technical Lead Jiahao has been organising Bramble’s internal systems and working on bugs within our app, all while settling back into his final year of university.

We’re so excited to take you on this journey with us as we figure out the in’s and out’s of running a business, building relationships with communities, and developing an app. Subscribe to our newsletter to keep up to date with the buzz at Bramble HQ and watch this space for the cool content we’re cooking up!
